I Youth Olympic Games were presented in Gymnasium

The great celebration devoted to the 1st Youth Olympic Games ever took place in the gymnasium “Potential” in Kyiv today. Among those who came to the school to take part in the unique show dedicated to the YOG -2010 were the NOC of Ukraine President, the Chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Games Sergey Bubka, the Young Ambassador of Ukraine Iryna Merleni, Olympic champions and medallists Elbrus Tedeiev, Vadym Gutsait, Olena Govorova and Anna Sorokina.
The grand performance staged by the gymnasium pupils introduced to the spectators the inaugural Olympic competitions for young athletes which in less then 100 days will start in Singapore and the culture of the countries that will delegate their sportsmen for the participation in this unique event. The kaleidoscope of lifestyles and sporting traditions, national languages and costumes and even national dishes of the European, Asian, African, American and Australian countries was presented to the guests.
“It’s great to see that day by day the YOG gain more and more popularity in Ukraine, among the Ukrainian young people. I’m impressed by the enthusiasm the children showed while preparing for today’s performance and happy to see the joy on their faces now. The youth of our country is looking forward to the start of the Games,” Sergey Bubka said.
