A number of contests, quizes, competitions and other sport events will take place in all Ukrainian regions within the framework of Olympic Week and Olympic Lesson. Olympic champions, famous athletes and coaches, members of Ukrainian Sport Academy and NOC Athletes Commission will take part in these events as honourable guests.
This year All-Ukrainian Olympic Lesson will be held under the slogan “Join the Olympians” and is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of participation of the Ukrainian athletes in modern Olympic Games. Official Opening will take place during celebration of Physical Culture and Sport Day in the main street of Kyiv on 8 September.
The athletes and pupils of sport schools for youth and children will be competing and training on 17 sports grounds placed in Khreshchatyk Street with the purpose to promote and popularize their sports.
This year, for the third time, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in close co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry for Family, Youth and Sport of Ukraine will organise and monitor the conduction of Olympic lessons in secondary schools of our country. Last years similar events were held in all regions of Ukraine and they contributed a lot to the promotion of the Olympic Movement and healthy life style. Thousands of children from different corners of our country had got the possibility to communicate with Olympic champions and medal winners, outstanding athletes and coaches. They were given the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Olympic Movement, its ideas and principles, to strengthen themselves not only physically but intellectually as well.
