Dr. Jacques Rogge has seen the historical sights of Kyiv

After a great number of official meetings and ceremonies the IOC President had a good opportunity to see historical monuments and picturesque places of the capital of Ukraine. During a tree-hour tour over the city Jacques Rogge visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - an association of a museum and monastery in use – where with great interest he got acquainted with a history of the monastery, the museums, which are located in the reserve territory, their expositional, exhibitional activity. After the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Dr. Rogge visited an outdoor exhibition of the National Museum of Great Patriotic War where he could also admire unique picturesque places of Kyiv. Then the rout ran to the Mykhailivskyy and St. Sofia Cathedrals. “Ukraine is a very beautiful and religious country. I saw many wonderful places. I am impressed by historical and cultural heritage of your country”, Mr.Jacques Rogge shared his impressions with.
